Thursday Jun 18, 2020
Our third compilation episode features the defining genre of the early 2000s, extreme sports. We bring on friends of the show Gavin Brown and Victor De Jong for their extensive knowledge and memories of these games. From motocross titles such as Jeremy McGrath Supercross World and MX Superfly to snowboarding games like Dark Summit and SSX Tricky, as well as games by competing BMX legends Dave Mirra and Mat Hoffman. We even brought back Marty Thompson to cover his favourite franchise and talk a little about Disney Sports Skateboarding. But make sure to listen in at 41:12 to Neil reading the back of BMX XXX, a game that honestly belongs more on "How Did This Get Made" than here. For the rest of the games skip to the end to hear Neil sit by the fire and read out the back of each case while you listen to your favourite nu metal tracks.

With the GameCube's launch, Nintendo introduced yet another new franchise, this time one with a completely original spin on the real time strategy game genre. With a deadline of 30 days for Captain Olimar to escape by, this title can stress out even the resilient resource managers. Join Neil and Mike as they discuss the game and the franchise's future while friend of the show Ramon Sanchez guest stars to share his experience of game and points out its eerily similar plot to The Martian. Skip to 47:13 to hear Olimar's latest journal entry on the back of the case and stick around until the end for a surprise.

Thursday May 21, 2020
Continuing Nintendo's launch day of the GameCube comes the main attraction of the day, Luigi's Mansion. A very different and potentially risky move for the gaming giant, Luigi's first solo game shares more ties with Resident Evil than his brother's franchise. Mike and Neil discuss their memories of the game, how it holds up today, and bring on special guest Zafir to talk about, well, why people still talk about this game. Skip to 54:02 to listen to Neil do his best YTV commercial impression of the back of the case.
